Guide Rod Mount Rot
This does not look good. I knew my mounts were getting bad, so I did some poking around and ended up pulling the tab out of there and let loose a bunch of built up rust, I don't think this mount is doing much of anything anymore. I haven't driven the car in a few weeks, but water still managed to find it's way in there okay. The other mount must be pretty solid still since the car seems to run fine. So is this a ticking time bomb? Has anybody gotten this repaired, it seems like a pretty common problem? About how much would it run me? The previous owner repaired the drivers side and it's holding up pretty good, so maybe it would be worth it.

All you have to do is to hit a bump hard enough and it will fall off...
Do you have another vehicle? I would take care of that ASAP.

Yes I do have another vehicle and I was planning on selling one of them. After finding this, I'm thinking it's time to sell this one but I'm not sure how to go about it at this point. It seems too nice for a parts car; the engine and transmission are great, it looks very nice (minus a few rust spots) and it runs very smooth. It has typical rust spots on the rear fenders, rear window corner, jack points, battery tray, inner front fender, etc, etc and the interior is pretty good except for the seats. Just about everything else works and it's been my daily driver for the last 3 years. I was thinking I should be able to get close to 2k for it. Maybe if I find that it will cost say $700 to repair the mount, I'll just ask $1300 for it and stress the fact that it needs to be repaired. Oh what to do, what to do?... Damn rust!
