My father has a c240 from 2000 with 35k on it. Has already had front bushings replaced, the airbag sensor replaced, the computer replaced twice, the oil sender unit/bracket replaced, and needs a new rear axle boot due to cracking rubber.

THAT's a lemon!

Luckly he had the warranty extended due to the salesman forging his signature on an altered sales contract. Everything was covered except the oil sender unit and axle boots.

Yeah It really is just abused and neglected but who knows maybe with some love it can come back, I got it running tonight sounds nice no knocks in the motor and trans shifts smooth, no oil in coolant or vice versa, needs exhaust, but who knows. Yeah I did get a sweet deal on my diesel I sold it to my uncle after high school cause I didn't know how to maintain it and it was expensive to do so. He had it for 3 years or so, recently I graduated college and said to him how I needed a fuel efficient and reliable car, he says "hey I still have the benz of yours you want?" He did a lot to the car and fixed it and I said ooohhh hell yeah. and the rest is history

You really enjoyed the chance to whip out the giant red font, didn't you?

In more diesely news, I just got dirty diesel oil on my computer and I'm not really sure how or where it came from.

The lesson here is only buy MB diesels!!!!!

How much did you pay for this peach? I would suggest selling before spending a bundle on a car that's not worth it, unless its in otherwise excellent condition. Then find another one with some records, so you're not left holding the bag from a previous neglectful owner.
Please tell me where I can get a new cap, rotor, plugs and wires
for my diesel.

yes, glow plugs burn out often on that 190e. and they're so costly.

Look up the term 'most', Jack. Don't confuse it with all.

The other things on the list that a diesel would need:
oil change, rad flush, new thermostat, trans fluid change, new exhaust (from the cats back), and new tires, it still needs brakes and still runs like crap.

I believe 7 out of 10 would be considered most, don't you?

If they had a size 8 I would used it! I just wait in the shadows for these chances. If I get grumpy with the family the wife also gets grumpy- and ya know if she ain't happy... NO ONE is happy...lol,

I put 450,000 on my 190E 2.6 before buying my first diesel. It was a great car. Still ran great. Lots of power after I replaced the plugged up exhaust system.

Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy... does that mean your half way there? Lord knows I am, and I already went over to the other side, but the forces of the dark side were powerful, and I had to sell the gassers
I got grumpy when I asked a member to show proof that his stock w123 went 0-60 in 12 seconds and I was asked to cut him salck and lay off. Now I could strangle darth vader with my grumpy powers. And thus the line under my name I took my toys and left the sandbox.
but if you (meaning anyone) needs help, I still give it.
An automatic pass goes out to wagon owners. All those that call a w123 XXXTD and it's not a wagon get a polite re-education one time. After that it's off with their heads.

Old cars always need a ton of work, if you don't want problems go lease a new one.

OK I'll bite what is it if it isn't a wagon. In England it would be a Shooting Brake. What is it in Germany, or at least a translation....Lord knows I don't want to ruffle feathers....and i would love the correct name.

Update: OOPS I've mis read the post, (I do that from time to time). I do know the difference.
