Diesel price coming down
I fueled up on diesel today for $3.859 a gallon on Jacksboro Hwy in Fort Worth. Anyone see any lower prices yet?
Diesel has dropped 65 cents per gallon around here.
Diesel got up to $5.19 here in SoCal, but I paid $4.65 a few days ago. Still too much. :(
4.39 in West Virginia. Gas is 3.79 I still don't understand the huge difference.
Its $1.58 a liter here in Vancouver BC or if you prefer $7.18 CDN a gallon.
We're getting down to 4.29 in many places now around here. The truck stops are down to about 4.15-4.20......I hope it keeps falling. I filled up at 4.39 last time, way lower than a month ago....highest I've paid yet was 4.89.
However, my fuel has been free lately because I accumulated enough reward points on my credit/fuel card to earn a $100 fuel card! :D thats like 600ish miles of free driving at current prices. :D |
Paid $3.99 here in southeast VA tonight.
3.73 on Sunday here.
$3.95 in Columbia, MO yesterday . . . hoping it keeps dropping. My wife and I decided that if it got below $4 we would have to take a road trip somewhere.
I filled up last sunday @ 3.99 .It was the lowest I've seen in Los Angeles.
$4.15.. but for how long?
Lowest I have seen here in northeast Tennessee is $4.25 per gallon, but the Nascar race is this week and there are oodles and oodles of diesel pickup trucks and motorhomes from all over the country here this week, so that may be why prices are staying high?

You guys should visit gasbuddy.com I have been using it lately to decide where to fill up. You would be surprised at the difference in prices locally. Probably 50-75 cents difference from high to low.

For those that use gasbuudy, is there a way to narrow down to diesel? I just checked my zip, and a station I know that doesn't carry diesel was listed. Understandable, but it doesn't help.
how long will they keep going down? How Long?
West Union, West Virginia
4.05 at Fairview Exxon
$4.19 in Pontiac, MI.
Well, I have an update from yesterday - I was driving by the 7/11 on Boat Club Road in far NW Fort Worth (Eagle Mountain Lake) and diesel is $3.449 - it must be a mistake, as that station was $4.499 yesterday. I went home, got the 300SD, went back and filled it up.
Cheapest I have seen it in the DC area Manassas to Harper's ferry is $4.49. That is the going price at all the stations I checked...
I will check out Md and Pa (US 15 and I-78) and NJ I-78 and Rt 17 tomorrow when I head north. |
These thread's info gets old pretty quickly, but I got diesel for $3.98 today. How bad is it where you're happy to be just under 4 bucks!!:mad:

Still $4.09 at the corner of Beulah and Telegraph Rd in Alexandria. It's Sunocco too! NASCAR DIESEL!(LOL)
Off subject, but they just put in new pumps there. I find it interesting that they now have 4 grades of gasoline. 87, 89, 91, and 93. Weird! |

So, with this price drop, do we fill 55 gal drums now or wait? ;) |

They are conditioning our thinking. We feel good about it getting back below $4 a gallon now - when two years ago we would have FAINTED at the thought of it being $4 a gallon! They pulled the exact same maneuver on us about 3 years ago - when they pushed it up to over $3 a gallon then backed off to about $2.50. Can anyone tell me what has changed in the last few weeks to cause the price to drop $1 a gallon? I say NOTHING has changed except our expectations. They conditioned us into thinking the way that they want us to - that $4 a gallon is a reasonable, affordable price. So now they can coast along continuing to make record profits for another couple of years - until they decide to do it again. Personally I am NOT happy about $4 a gallon, and won't be happy until it gets back down to below $3 a gallon - where it was a year ago. |
Exxon only made $16,000,000,000.00 in profit last quarter. So, don't be so hard on those guys, oaky?

Yep, my form of protest is to keep driving cars that get good mileage, and to just drive less. I want a CDI... |

Uhm... I will preface this by saying I do not support this individual and have no interest in starting a political debate, but the main reason for the price drop is George W. Bush ended the executive branch's ban on domestic drilling. (i.e. ANWAR, Florida coast, etc..) This scared the living crap out of the world market. Just think what would happen if that commie b***h Palosi wouldn't have sent everyone home early? Thats right folks! The ban would have passed Congress and we would have our 2.50 Diesel back regardless if we actually drilled anything! Just the threat of drilling lowers prices. |

However I think the real reasons are the investigations into oil speculation and the fact that this has been a bubble with NOTHING to back it up. Oil should be around ~65-70 a barrel not 130. This is according to oil analysts working with the actual demand for crude, not these inflated prices. I believe that we are going to see a major correction in the price of crude soon. If this price drop makes it to the pumps or if it just means more profit$ for the oil companies remains to be seen... |
It's just a game!
Diesel is LESS refined and comes off the refinning system before gasoline. It's a dam shame that something less refined and less processed costs more. It's simple really. .supply and demand. Heating oil is a dirtier version of diesel, and everyone with oil heat needs it. The game is being played by the oil companies who know they can leagally rape us for the fuel. It's sad really. We all need to just revolt lol.
