W116 and W126 fuel sending units

Hi,does anyone know for sure if there is any difference between a fuel sending unit for a W116 300SD and a W126 300SD?Thanks

I'd suggest looking it up for both models in an online store and see if it calls for the same part number.

Yes, Please post here if you find out if they'll interchange... I may be needing one myself very soon.

Different part numbers but they look the same! Any body's guess at this point.

They all look the same. The major difference is likely to be the length. I have a W116 out now. It has a length of 12.25" from the bottom of the top flange to the nut on the bottom. The W123 is about an inch longer.

Does anyone have a W126 available for measurements?

I have a w126 gasser one....and a 300TD one; the 300TD is much shorter than a w123 300D sedan version. I don't have any with me....nor readily available; its the storage thing; its the moving thing.

Final findings are the W126 unit is about an inch shorter than a W116 unit.Tried a 116 unit in my 126 and it has the reserve light coming on at over a 1/4 of a tank.
