SDL Euro Headlights Question
I have just purchased a pair of good used Bosch Euro Headlights for my 300SDL. They have the Vacuum Level Actuators which I would Like to hook up. I looked through a lot of the threads on this subject but can't answer these questions.
Do you have to buy a complete new Headlight switch assembly or can you just get the Vacuum Adjuster and a new Trim Plate for the H/Lamp Switch? Does anybody know the Part Numbers for the parts I need (Switch, Vacuum Adjuster, Vacuum Check Valve)? Thanks

Another option: you could use the vacuum adjust switch from a W123 (simple & cheap), thus eliminating the need to change your headlight switch.

Quote:
physically the switches are the same for 126 and 123 so you are partially correct, but the deciding factor here is mounting location, so unless he wants to remove some switch from the a/c panel he will need the bezel from around the headlight switch since this is where the switch mounts

I'm not sure about the later W123s, but I am about the earlier models; they have a completely separate vacuum adjust switch that mounts in the center switch panel. This is the one I'm referring to, although you are right about finding a place for the added switch. Most cars have a couple of spots available, as they don't come w/all available options.
For example: when I replaced my CC w/a manual HAVC system from a 240D, for simplicity, I used a thermo-controller from a W115 car.
