Does your engine run? Yes? Then ULSD IS backwards compatible.

Yea, same here, $20 for 1 gal of the blue Rotella....so I ended up buying the Mobil1 15W50 full synthetic, under $24 for 5 quart jug......1 quart more than the $20 blue Rotella....

Thats weird that it'd be $20 at walmart.....I guess I know to not shop there anymore.

With my current driving quantities I only do about 3 oil changes a year anyways.....so its not a big deal.

For years, Wal-Mart sold 5-quart jugs of Rotella syn for $12.88. With the price hike, I'd go with M1 Truck & SUV 5w-40 syn (Delvac 1). Last time I was there, I bought a few jugs. Hope they still sell it.

I was shocked to see that it was $20 at WM in Marysville WA last week, so I spent the extra $3 for M1 turbo diesel truck oil.

The preferred M1: http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_1_Turbo_Diesel_Truck_5W-40.aspx. Looks like they still manufacture it.

I use Rotella T Synth. Lots cheaper and easier starts in winter. I can't ask for any more.

We were at the Walfart in Salinas yesterday, and Rotella-T is $20.00 here also. They do sell a 5 Gallon bucket for $49.00, but don`t think it was the synthetic. wonder why they don`t have the Syn. in larger sizes?

I use Amsoil Marine-Diesel 15-40, and run the full flow by-pass filter system. with the EAO-26 and EABP-100 filters along with the stock Mann filter. so that makes my capacity right at 11 qts or so.

I hate having to buy oil and worry about price, next time Iam back up to Portland with the pick-up Iam picking up a 30 Gallon drum and be done with it.

Rotella Synthetic must be good stuff, because my dad's car will be crossing over into the 300,000 mile club here shortly running on none other than Rotella Synthetic.

He has run everything from Delo400, Rotella Dino, 0w40 mobil 1, 5w40 turbodiesel Mobil 1, Rotella 5w40 Synthetic....it ran fine on all of them except there was more engine noise on the 0w40....

I've used Dino Rotella, Mobil 1300 Dino.....M1 5w40......and Rotella Synthetic, but I've used Rotella Synthetic by far the longest, and it likes it just fine.

Just switched to Rotella T 5W40 Synthetic. With 8 Miles on it, it seems quieter. Time will tell.

Rotella is better than the standard Dino oils out there, but it's now the same price as Mobil 1... why pay for group 3 when group 4 is the same price?
