Compatibility of parts between CD and SD

Hello,

My friend and I bought a "project car" 1984 300 cd.

It needs a lot of interior work, and since the cd's production was not as high as the other cars, I am having trouble finding parts.

It looks like a w123 - but does it go by something different because its a CD?

Will things like seats, and other interior items work from say another 123?

Thanks for any insight.

The '84 CD is indeed a W123-bodied car. It is mostly the same as a sedan and the front is identical to the sedan and T-sedan (wagon) with the obvious differences related to 2 doors vs. 4 doors, etc. The front seats are different since the backs need to tilt; I think there's a pressure or vacuum-actuated safety switch to "lock" the seat backs in place when the car is in motion.

The front doors are longer, the rear seat may be the same. Most of the electrics will be the same, the trunk sheet metal and hardware should interchange. The front end and engine will swap except that the T-sedan's engine has a special pump for the rear shocks.

The engine parts and a few odds and ends are all that will be shared with your SD. The W123 Coupe has a unique rear seat from other W123s

Thanks for the replies.

Can I take standard 123 seats and use them, are the bolt patterns the same?

I know they will not slide up and forward the same, but will they fit?

WIS - Are you parting it out or only the whole car? Also, what color is your interior?

Thanks!
