Random Thoughts at Large
Here I am on a holiday escaping inside for a little quiet.
I've just run to the store in the TD. I was thinking about how many references I've read that these cars are slow. Even thought I've driven and or owned quite a few exotic cars that were not lacking in power, I have not found even a single instance since I purchased this TD that I went "eww, what a dog". Perhaps it's the low end torque fooling me. On the highway at speed, I find that it feels like a small V8. Perfectly adequate at 70mph. Around town, just fine. I'm a pretty aggressive driver to boot. (brag, a perfect driving record as well, even though I ALWAYS speed where applicable :D). I read an article the other day that this was the most boring car ever built, but I just love the little feller. Here ,just to gag you, I've never named a car. I thought that was the dumbest thing, anthropomorphize an inanimate object:rolleyes:. It always made me squirmy hearing pet names, e-gawds for cars, sheesh. My wife started calling my car Junior, as in her car was the big ol SD senior. She said that with all my obsessive behaviour fixing it up, it was like taking care of a kid,. Now I even find myself calling the damn thing Junior:confused: even though I don't like the name.....I like the sentiment, gag:eek:. Everything works now, just as it should. I'd rather drive this car than any of the others. It's different little sounds are appealing, the tourqe is fun, and the perceptions of others run the gamut..... Eww, Mikey, it looks like a hearse. Hey I never thought I'd see you with a mommy car. Wow I've never seen one of these, pretty cool, kinda like that P1800ES. Man what a pretty TD. I never see those anymore. Hi I'd be interested in buying this please call............ Only 106,000 miles, dude these things last FOREVER!:). NOT interested in selling, everyone has a price, but I'd not take 12 Grand. Up from there, who knows. Happy Holiday folks.. now back to the crowd, heh |
