300d transmission switch
I was changing my atf on my 85 300d and I found a broken wire connected to a switch at the rear of the transmission. I noticed it a few months ago but thought it was string. I reconnected the ends. What is the switch and what does it do? I took it for a drive and noticed no change in performance.

Based on your description it goes to the kick down solenoid switch.

The kick down worked while it was disconnected. No noticable change after I reconnected the wires. The switch has a rubber sleeve around it.
