Help !!!

So I just replaced the glow plugs in the 91 350 sdl. Had to remove the manifold to get to the glow plugs, and took the opportunity to clean the manifold and ports thoroughly. Replaced glow plugs and tested them with the ohm, they all ran under 1.0 perfect, sure beats the 2 of six that worked before. Replaced manifold with new gaskets, some trouble getting bolts aligned but figured it out eventually. finally got everything together and was exited to try it out. Glow plugs worked great and it started right away, then started to run rough. I figured this was because I had knocked a lot of gunk and carbon loose so I let it run for a while. After a few minutes I remembered that I had forgot to re hook up the vacuum lines, dammit got to exited. Dug under the hood and found I had accidentally pulled a few more loose than just the ones to the manifold. The car died before I got them all re hooked back up. Got them all in the right place or so I think and decided to restart her. Fires right away but then won't sustain combustion. ???? So a diesel needs air and fuel to work ,would it not run if the manifold is improperly placed or not tightened down enough? The gasket is seated well, it seems to me perhaps more like a fuel issue. Is their anyone who offhand knows where to start troubleshooting, I'm about to say f#$%%^ it and go to a mech.

I do not know anyting about the 91. But I do not see how you could get a manifold onto the engine so mis-aligned that it would cause the car to miss. As I said, knowing nothing about your car, I would suspect vacuum or electrical issue, if the car is electronic controlled.

I would suggest rechecking the vacuum lines, and make sure they are connected correctly, and not leaking, especially the one to the "shut off" valve. As you say, it is either air or fuel, so I would look at those two areas first. Good luck!!

Did you connect your vacuum shut off valve to a vacuum source or back to the correct line running from the ignition switch?

And Bingo, exactly! Had the wrong line connected to the vacuum shut off valve. Bonehead mistake, my bad and thanks for the suggestions.
