‘87 300SDL…Rain Water Leaks

Have some water leaking into both front and rear foot well areas. Assuming front drain holes at firewall are blocked. What’s the procedure to remove that black plastic shield to gain access to the drains?

Have another leakage problem with my ‘80 300SD. Water getting into passenger side trunk well. Will appreciate any thoughts on best way to proceed.

Thanks,
Bill

If you are using your A/C on the 300SDL, a common problem is that the drain lines for the A/C deteriorate and leak water (condensate) from the evap core into the areas you are talking about. You might check that, very common if you are using the AC.
The SD is well know for the rear windshield seal to leak into the trunk, as is the SDL.

Look at your windsheild seal, mine was leaking there and I applied some rtv and it stopped leaking.
