Stock gauge pointer color- W123

What was the stock gauge pointer color on a W123. All that I have ever seen were yellow but is that really just faded VDO red?

Thanks,

Testors Signal Orange #tes28004

Personally Red on Black Gauge faces looks better IMHO

I used Testors International orange (it's the color of the golden gate bridge) which still has a safety (signal) orange feel, but gives the better contrast that TX76513 describes.

Also, it looks nice as I scan from the road, past my (orient red) hood and down to the guages

I used the Testors orange too, but in hindsight, you're better off using yellow and adding some of the orange in until you get the right tint.

I remember our 2 year old SD as a kid was closest in color to carrot sticks.

It sounds like it never was VDO aftermarket red but at least more red than what mine have faded to.

I am adding some gauges to my 300D. I think I will go with VDO Cockpit or Vision series and repaint the factory pointers to match the new gauges.

I used an orange sharpie. It came out a bit on the reddish side. Its much cleaner to do also.
