Of course! We all have the ultra-rare extra Getrag laying around. Sure, the one we already have installed in our cars is working fine, but we just like having a spare......

Perhaps he's looking for a manual, i.e., documentation for such a transmission rather than the transmission itself.

try looking into other cars it was used in, i know that BMW likes to use getrag stick shifts.
see if any particular model numbers of bmw's come up on a search for that tranny
