Anyone carry an aftermarket grill insert for an 84 300d

Im not pimping it out ,just want something that puts a different look on the face .If not ,Ive been looking at creating my own.No brand in the center ,just a meshed metal look that brings the front from plastic to fantastic.Im going to get grilled for this one .

I've seen some guys get extra horizontal chrome strips and bling their grill with double or triple the horizontal chrome (aluminum). It looks way better than an SEC style grill on a w123, which is the only other option I've seen for a w123 grill.

They are always a ripoff. Check eBay for better deals.

I de-chromed my insert, dremeled off the tabs and painted it black w/ that fusion spraypaint. IMHO it looks pretty sweet, but I've never been a fan of chrome.

I was rolling my eyes while reading the post, and then I saw who the author was. I fell off the couch.......
BTW, I think the grill insert painted black looks better on all colors. Goes with the bumper padding and black trim areas.....

I was playing with this on the computer one day. The left side with mesh compared with the right side stock. I never finished doing both sides to get the full look of it.

When you take the plastic grill piece out youll find its all one piece ,the webbed chrome structure wont be possible for the refitted grill .I have found a nice mesh metal piece Ive fitted to the opening ,Ill have it installed on the car tommorrow ,pics by the weekend.the hood release will have to be rework ,Im going with something simple for now.

I think it will end up having a "Bentley" look if you have just mesh inside the chrome surround. It should look pretty cool.

Yes ,thats what Im coming up with in the pre fits,it looks much like the upper photo, good job.Ive put a slight bend in it going across the top to give not such a flat look though ,its really starting to look like something now.
