I was wondering why at stop signs with the clutch in the car would suddenly "lurch" forward... i guess the fill bolt was a sign to pull the tranny.. there is a mercedes god.

The plug came out with a ton of work, i finally got pissed off at it and pounded the 17mm hex into it and put my 3/4 air gun on it and it came out, good thing i did this because the fluid looked like molasses.

this must be your 83 240D? Trans. rebuild? when? how long ago? If the oil was like Molasses soulds like it has been in there 25 yrs.

Looks like you have some hidden issues that will pop from time to time.
(Like trees) good think you cought the clutch problem when you did.

good thing you have a good mechanic on site
