Uh Oh, broken rear trans case
Now I've done it. Reattaching the speedo cable after an odometer repair I seem to have broken the cable clamping portion of the rear of the transmision case. It appears I need to repalce the rear of th eransmission case to get back a working speedometer and odometer.
Any thoughts on what's involved in this job? Also, my car is an 1987 190 turbo diesel, would I be able to use other w201 or similar age car's transmission for this part? Thanks guys George |

Try to stick the cable in place and JB weld the tranny case back to thw way it should be. Yeah, it would be rigged but how often do you need to replace the cable?
