Rattle driving me nuts...

Their is a slight rattle coming from under the SDL, but it doesn't do it all the time. Only does it at idle, soon as the rpms come up it smooths right out. It sounds like a shot cat, but I don't think anything is under there except for a resonator.

Any ideas? Saturday I might put it up on jackstands and poke around. I might wait for it to get worse.

Is there some sort of cat under these things? I think just in the downpipe thats it. If their is its getting cut out.

Might try your muffler hangers.
I got a little rattling from one of those being shot once.

I think you've got a flex type joint aft of the turbo that connects to the main exhaust? The clamp holding that joint together can rattle.

Good luck. I just fixed my nagging rattle that's been bothering me since I bought it.

That was the cause of mine.

Look at your shifter rod bushings under the car. My sdl made a horrible rattling sound and I found both bushings completely gone and the shifter rod just rattling in the holes where the bushings reside.

I doubt its those rubber doughnut things, I changed all of them a couple of years ago.

Sounds like it could be that clamp, that would make sense. If I lay under it and poke around enough I'll figure it out.

I had a rattle when my downpipe-flex pipe was failing. It began rattling, then it just broke apart, and sounded like a drag racer. I had figured out the issue at that point. :D

I'm not to worried, if I can't find it...eventualy it will fail, and than I will!:D
