Heavy duty rear coil springs install 300sdl

Am about to change rear coil springs on my 86 300sdl. Have came across a good deal on some heavy duty springs...actually can get them cheaper than stock replacement ones brand new. Was wondering if anyone has ever swapped heavy duty springs in there 300sdl. Any issues i may run into versus an oem spring? Am just wondering if it will cause my rear end to sit higher than normal and how ride quality will be affected. Thanks

Be a bit careful of the term "heavy duty" when it comes to M/B springs.

I would not believe in "heavy duty" unless I verified that the wire diameter was greater than the stock spring. I seriously doubt that you'll find this is the actual situation.

A spring with a heavier wire will provide a higher spring rate and compress to a smaller degree with load. Accordingly, it will cause the vehicle to sit higher in the rear as compared to a stock spring.

If you do find that such a spring truly exists, I'd be interested in knowing the diameter of the wire and the length of the uncompressed spring.

I do not know the wire diameter. They are the lemjefors springs sold on this site. Anyone have any experience with these? Any help is appreciated
