Fuel Price
 

Is the price of fuel going crazy every where like it is in North Carolina? Yesterday I filled my 500 up with premium at 3.61. Diesel was 4.19. This afternoon regular is 4.29 and diesel is 4.29. Some stations are out of fuel and are being told they wouldn't be getting any more until further notice. All of this because there MAY be some damage to the Gulf oil rigs. Oh well, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Yeah, I filled up Thursday morning at $4.00, I'll think I'll ride the storm out to fill up the other one.

There are a few stations that have jacked up the price. I went to the local Hot Spot and the attendant told me that they have been out of gasoline since yesterday morning. Luckily they had just received a shipment of diesel this morning, $3.99/gallon! Stingy me only put in $25 worth:rolleyes: The attendant said that dependent on how the storm hits it could be as few as 5 days for gasoline but possibly up to 2 weeks:eek:!

I've got plenty of fuel to last a week and a half.

Prices haven't changed around here....but both our car's tanks are full to the brim, so we have plenty of fuel to last a long while (a number of weeks)....evil oil companies....

All the evil 'big oil' Co's should shut down completely, and not just in the storm swept Texas coast areas, for say a month. Then lets see what the Yapping sounds like!!!!!!!!!!

The fleet is full, just by coincidence. I filled up Ol' Turbo today... lines!

Haven't seen that since 9-11.

Well, most stations are out of fuel and gas here in NC. I was just out and didn't see any gas but saw diesel for $5.999. Sure glad I don't need any.

Which is worse, keeping the price the same as before the "outage" and running out of fuel to sell, or raising the price so those who really need fuel can buy some?

Whining that the station owners are selling fuel for more than they paid is completely disingenuous. If you bought something and the value went up, would you feel compelled to sell it based on your purchase price? Why should a gas station? If it will cost them $4.00 to replace that gallon of diesel fuel that you bought, do you really think that they should be forced to sell it to you for $3.95?

I was in Winston yesterday and needed gas to get home. Gas went from the $3.60 range to up over $4.70. Most stations were out. I had to go to 5 stations to find one with gas.

Today the stations have gas again and prices are down closer to $4.00. Diesel stayed around $4. throughout.

Hopefully the interruption and price impacts will be short.

To the ignorant who say: "Drill in the USA to lower our oil prices!"

Do you think the oil companies are in it to help us out? NO, they are not. They are in it to get as much $$ out of the population as they can. Duh. If they drill oil here in the USA, it is more profitable for them to re-sell that oil in China/India etc....than it is to sell/refine here. So they sell our oil off to them, then buy oil from the Middle East at a good price, and make more money on that too. They move oil all over the place to achieve maximum profit.

There is no "drill here to lower prices" We have plenty of crude oil, and most of it is foreign. The problem is ridiculous waste and demand in this country, too low of prices (since high prices are all that can be used to get people to conserve/not waste), lack of refining capacity, evil greedy oil companies, and automakers who are paid to not produce efficient cars, by said evil oil companies. The problem is corruption and waste, not a lack of available crude oil.

Get the facts before making ill-informed statements.

I filled up my tank and a 55 gallon barrel friday for $3.79/gallon, and yes, it was diesel! :D There was a line of like 30 cars on the street to get into the station, but only a few diesels...

Yikes, you dropped $285ish on a fuel purchase.... :dizzy2: Wshew. :eek:
