sunroof drain clogged?
on my 81 300d, just purchased it.after it sat for 2 year.. i noticed the trunk was full of mold and stunk. i cleaned it all out and put everything back together. Sure enough this weekend after the rain, the trunk was full of water. i cleaned it all out and then i took my hose and held it to the trunk, no seepage, at least to my knowledge. However i assume there is a sunroof drain that runs somewhere by the trunk (on the right hand side) that may have been cut or pinched during previous body work. Has anyone had this issue? where do i look for the drain and how would one go about cleaning it?

If you plan to do it yourself its pretty cheap, but if you have it done then it could cost you.
You could try to seal it with silicone but I don't recomend it becasue silicone causes rust.

i guess it wouldnt hurt to change a dry rotted window seal, i have auto body expierence so i assume it wouldnt be hard to change the window seal myself and i could have someone from work help me as well.

When you pull out the window the body may be rusted out so you may have to use some jb weld or bondo and fill in the holes before you re-install the glass.

Since you are replacing the seal, don't risk breaking the window by removing it with the seal. Cut the seal off and then remove the window. About 2 years ago, I had a glass shop do mine. I found a Meyle seal for around $60, if I remember correctly. The shop charged $100.

i went to a glass shop today....i live on a small mountian in the woods, so there are not many options of places to take it to. they told me if I supplied the part, they would charge me 150. looks like ill order a part and do it myself, or have my work do it since i dont pay labor.
id be paying around 210. i think thats ridiculous. thats almost as much as i paid for the car!

have you checked to make sure thats whats leaking. If your sure the trunk isn't leaking then put water on the rear window, if it still doesn't leak then hold water on the sunroof.

Trunk leaking possibilities
I had excellent results replacing my tail light seals (1981 300D). They still had these at my local Mercedes dealer and were about $15 each. Stopped all leaks. (Rear window seal on this car appears excellent and pliable already).

this is my first old mb. when i took the car to work today they said it doesnt look good that i can push on my rear window, and it moves in about 1/8 inch.
it is raining today and there is def rain coming in from the rear seal, however seems to me that it is rotted and i will need to do some repair to the body under the seal.
