Will a '79 240D engine mount up to a '83 240D manual transmission?
I thought I read something about an adapter a while back. Couldn't find it in the search. Thanks,

Yes, no problem, no adapter, just bolt it up

79 and 83 are the same engine.

With the exception of accessories such as the AC, air filter housing, and vacuum pump, correct?

Yes, bolt-on accessories are different.

absolutley will mount directly up. Only consideration as you probably know is the flywheel. If you are going from auto to manual, that has to be changed too.
