1984 300D Turbo

I just got back from driving a 1984 300D Turbo, What a HUGE difference from my 240D, It has 255k miles on it, the ac does not work, The dash is cracked and one power window does not work. It is a ugly baby blue that may be fading a bit. He said he will take $2200 cash. Does this sound like a good deal? Also no rust

How does the engine run and trans shift? What's the condition of the rest of the interior? Does it leak in the rain? Does it smoke, is there blow-by? How many owners? Does it have maintenance records?

Get answers to these questions and offer $1000 and work up to $1500.

No smoke, No blow-by, No leaks. It runs good as far as I know but I'm new to MB and diesel. The interior is nice except for the color lol. He was asking $2500 and said he would take $2200 cash. As far as how many owners and service records I don't know yet.

I just bought a 1985 300CD with 208k miles and everything works for $3500. The right deal will come along if you're patient.




EDIT: No rust and a good engine and trans are definitely positives. I've just heard of too many great deals lately to think positively of a car that you don't even like the exterior and interior colors of.

Sounds like a reasonable price... A bit more than what I paid for Ol' Turbo (which needed a paint job).

I love the W123's but I do have a bad habbit of making decisions waaaayyy too fast. But anything is better than the 1993 Taurus I'm driving now lol

The color will grow on you. I wasn't a big fan of Petrol Blue Green at first, but came around after the respray.

Mother's clay bar will do wonders on the fading....

I'd bet that if you buy it, you'll end up coming across several better deals within a few months, but won't have the funds anymore.

EDIT: Ask Tyler how much he paid for Ol' Norm ... in which I believe everything works as well.
