84 300 turbo diesel

Has anybody replaced just the voltage regulator assembly on the alternator my lights will dim and later will get bright again also the blower motor will decrease speed and speed up and now my battery is dead.

Such an easy fix. You may have a cover on the back of the alternator. Remove the cover. The voltage regulator is attached by a couple of screws. unscrew, remove old regulator, install new regulator, re-install screws. You're done.

I have replaced the VR when my battery light glows. Two screws, 3 minute job.
