Clicking Cruise Control?

Recently, while glowing my plugs in the morning, I've been noticing a click-click-click under the hood. I popped the bonnet to see if I could locate the source, expecting it to emanate from the glow plug relay or something. Instead, it seems to be coming from the cruise control of all things! What the...?

BTW, it has been very difficult to start in this cold weather, so I ordered 5 new glow plugs.

Why would the CC be clicking like that? I put my hand on top of the unit to verify the source, and it sure seems as if it's the cruise unit...

I detached my cruise amp to stop this. what is the issue?

I have read about a 'circuit board' in the system?

the clicking was definitely from the cruise actuator / amp

I had to disconnect my cruise computer under the dash to cure this. I'm assuming it's a defective component (or a bad re-soldering job) that replacing it with a new, functional, expensive part would cure.

sounds like a relay in going off, but it might be because it is getting some erroneous input from somewhere else in the cc system. find good friend with the same cc system and try swapping it out
