Ok maybe for the little it'd be driven but as soon as you get in a crash you're screwed.

For $300 you could afford to put in a roll cage and some x-bracing underneath.

Eagle-co (James) has a chop top CD that has extra bracing under and I believe he said it doesn't flex much at all.

Death trap to you and everyone on the road.

Looks like some kids hacked at a good car for some "fun".

Yeah ... the "raw" sawzall edges aren't good either.

They should have left from the pillars forward intact and made it a landaulet.

That dirty S.O.B. (j/k!) snuck that CD right out of my "backyard". I'd been keeping an eye on it for novelty purposes over several months watching the price slowly drop. I snoozed, I losed. For a DIY it wasn't too bad.

Heck, if the things runs that is a good price for an extra engine. Should have some other usable parts too.
Pure donor vehicle.......

Without a functional ragtop for the open portion, it would look like a pickup truck.

EDIT: Here it is.

Hemmings diesel convertible?

I've been meaning to ask - there was a Florida dealer advertsing in Hemmings a few months back that said he had a few diesel convertibles, does anyone know anything about this?

I had a 72 dodge dart unibody which had a tree fall on it in a storm. the car only had 65K on it, so I chopped off the roof. first thing we did is load 5 adults in it, go into a gravel pit and jump it. twice.
the doors still opened fine, but the flex from coming down hard on the front end put the fan and radiator in contact. we walked home. after I fixed that, I drove the car quiet a bit. young and dumb. but fun.

I also had a friend with and older mopar sedan choptop- he drove it around the country several times.

I'd be afraid of the windshield collapsing on me and my passenger. I don't like picking glass out from between my teeth.
