I just came across a 1984 300SD Turbo, It needs a paint job, A/C needs work, A little bit of surface rust. It has 126,000 miles on the engine and trans, He is asking $1700. Is this a good investment? Also is this the W126 chassis?

Yes it is a W126. $1700 seems a bit high, I would start at $1000 and work up a few hundred if you really want it. Check the rear wheel areas for rust. Does everything else work?

I'm not sure what else works because I only saw it from the outside, its in a parking lot for sale. I do like how mean the front end looks but I'm still in love with the W123 looks.
