Exclamation looking at another car>need input

Guy has a 1984-87 (not sure which yr) and wamts me to make him an offer. I know this about the vehichle~ has broken shock tower _front drivers side_ that would hasve to be fixed_235,000 mi on odom_brakes,exhaust,trans,engine are good, interior is ok,some rustaround taillights, air works, sunroof broken(out of track),lots of scratches on body, loks like the car was NOT well maintained, burns gas. That is it. I know nothing about these vehicles as I have been concentrating on my 300SD,and would like to know how much to offer him ~if anything!~ was kind of thinking in the $150_200.00 range. Need feedback.

Shock tower? Thats not a normal term for a MB.....

Burns gas? Thats probably a good thing if its a gasser.

Your post doesn't make much sense, so I don't really know what to tell you.

Buying a poorly maintained car is never a good idea.

For a running parts car, $150-$200 bucks would be good. To fix that one is simply not worth the investment. Rust is a deal killer......

Around here rust is simply a fact of life......all of our cars except my dad's project SD have some rust. Its never been in the snow/winter, and never will be. Someday I hope to have a car I can shield from the snows too.....sadly its too late for my current one, and it'll have to be my winter beater eventually.

Its pretty impossible to not have rust on a year round Michigan car.... sigh.

As for the car mentioned at the begining of the post, if it moves then it could serve as a beater, if not, then its a parts car. I have also seen ones in the junk yard in way better shape than that one sounds like....
