What's your local Mercedes parts counter like?

I went to the Fairfield CT Mercedes dealer to get a $3 clutch slave cyl gasket and the place is first class! Nice decor, granite parts counter. Refreshment room with machine to brew fresh cup of coffee or tea, good selection of pastries to munch on. Are all Mercedes dealer parts department like that? This was just parts/service, a separate building from the showroom a mile away!

I've got two MB dealers near me, and both are pretty sparse. no coffee or doughnuts. nice seating area, leather "desk chairs" and a good showroom of MB goodies. footballs, golf bags, tees, etc.

Leather lounge chairs, granite counters, Fox news blaring.

The parts counter is not as glamorous, but it is an older dealer.

One particular old Chevy dealership (also started selling BMWs in the late '80s) had all their office chairs, waiting room chairs, tables, desks, EVERYTHING of the eames era, and REAL Herman Miller office equipment/lounge chairs. They were style icons and probably quite expensive when they bought them in the 70s.

A few years ago, they yanked them for some cheap stuff. Shortly after I found a rosewood one at a church sale (the people had no idea what it was) and I snatched it up.

It sits in my basement. Sadly the ottoman was missing.

my parts counter is a wood counter with all kinds of mercedes toys and stuff on it. Next to it is a bunch of "mercedes" shirts and cleaning products right next to a half million dollar Mayback which is sitting right next to a Mclaren SLR

The parts desk at the Saint Louis dealer I go to is pretty much the standard new office type stuff, pretty nice though. The MB dealer part is new, and they have the granite surfaces, leather seating, fox news blaring on multiple plasma T.Vs, Mercedes stuff everywhere, and the best part, the european coffee maker, free, of course.

Our dealer moved and built a whole new building a couple years ago. Massive upgrade, the building is enormous, has an indoor service center with a road and parking spaces in front of each "company" (MB, Volvo, VW) and the parts area is across the road, with the service area around behind that...its huge. The waiting room is always stocked with cookies, coffee, tea, and a few vending machines. Its pretty fancy, big plasma TV with CNN on it too.

The parts counter at the dealer that I frequent the most is VERY sparse. Metal counter, two computers, wooden bench, trashcan, greasy guys who come in for real parts and not boutique pieces, a MB sign, that's about it.

Now, the dealer where we hold the MBCA Houston board meetings is oh so plush. Wood accents, leather seats, guys in blazers at the parts counter with a glass display case filled with accessories, free fountain drinks, etc...
