Craigslist, classifieds, ebay, side of the road (preferably not on the side of the highway dead), this forum. Where do you live?

I live in Porter TX, its about 20 miles north of Houston TX...
and i refuse to go to a dealership b/c i do not want to get rattled up by those stupid salesmen that want me to drop 100K on a 09 S-CLass... happened to me last time i went....

I am only interested in old reliable diesels...
maybe someone who has a lot full of them for sale, or anything else.

Craigslist always has a lot of them where I live (sf bay area). Enough that I can be picky when looking for one. I am sure Houston is the same deal.

I bought both of mine from private individuals in Houston off of Craigslist
(one actually IS a BMW dealer, but had bought the 300TD for his teenage son - who didn't think it was 'cool' enough. I did )

Craigslist.com, and every where else is a distant second. You might also want to check the Austin and Dallas versions too. I'm in the DFW area and I always check Houston and Austin. Bought one from Austin..........

You should try to narrow down your search. Do you want a 240D, 300D, 300SD? Turbo vs non turbo. Something newer? If you are not sure, you should read this forum for a while to get an idea about the differences between the different models and eras. If you get a car that presents a lot of problems that you do not understand, you will get discouraged quickly.

Cool take our diesel !!!! Please...lol

We have a 1984 300SD TurboDiesel. THE BAD: interior isn't "datenight" worthy, but it's ok as a daily driver. MY hunny also tried to wax the car a few months ago to try to bring some shine to it. Well, the paint was just to worn and the diesel, which was formerly a nice powder blue, i not a swirl mark of bule/white on the top . Has an slow, oil leak somewhere underneath, I don't know wxcatly where its coming from and haven't even looked. No working radio, but stuill has the original Becker in it. No A/C, no heat. Electric seat passenger site doen't work. Motor works, but seat doesn't move, probably off track or something. THE GOOD: All power windows work (passenger side rear is off track, won't roll up/down, but you can hear the motor turning). Gets really really great gas mileage, she clocks about 35-38 mpg highway. STRONG engine. Starts everyday, in cold weather, hot weather, rainiy weather, always cranks up.
