`85 190D starter replacement

I`m trying to get advice on the procedure to get my starter out. Looks like I will need to remove the left motor mount as there is only 2in. between it and the starter. Does it require removing the lift pump and necessitating gaskets? So far I am favoring a new NSA starter as I don`t trust rebuilds. Pretty sure the problem is the solenoid. Only when warm after sitting for 15 min. or so it clicks on the first try and starts right after on the next try. It is consistant even after installing a new wire and starter button thus eliminating the ignition switch and wiring. I want to get this fixed before cold weather as I figure it`s a sign it will fail sooner than later.
