I bought the motor for parts, not to put in anything... that tranny though... mmmm
what the heck am I going to do with all those pull handles? I'm guessing there was nearly 1600lbs in there... oh, and I filled the tank with fuel too. when I loaded in the motor the bumper locked down onto the engine hoist... we could not pull it out from under the car... so I started the car, and the guy is saying "DON"T PULL AWAY WITH MY HOIST UNDER THERE!!!" and I said, not to worry. MB has you covered! I got out and with one hand pulled the hoist out from under the car. I think the guy's mouth is still on the ground. I pull up to get the motor, and he says to me, " I know you're not putting that motor in THERE!" I just laughed!

What on earth are those pull handles for???
Come on, you turned the pics sideways just to annoy us, right? See, not a thing wrong with a NA 300{TD,D,CD}. Plenty of power and acceleration.....

Wow. Amazing! Thats more weight than I've ever even PULLED with my SD. Didn't that like vastly exceed the load limits of the tires??? I'm sure most tires of that size are max rated at 1412lbs each I think......so you were either right at or above the limit.
I want a wagon!!!

Yeah, they are awesome, no doubt!
the car did squeek a bit under acceleration... you could hear the system straining to keep the car level. but like I said... the 6G2 hoses are fully tested now! I seriously doubt anybody will put more than THAT in a N/A TD and drive it! the car stopped flawlessly... of course, I did not force any panic stops on it either! there are some serious hills on I-77, and the car was able to hold 55 up them no major issues. on level ground, I had it up over 70mph! and on downhill slopes, it was FUN! but like I said, the car did have a tendency to, lets say wander a bit... road rhythm was interesting when semi's passed and such... glad there was no crosswind on the road. I wouldn't want to haul this much on a regular basis. the tires were new, or I would NEVER have tried it. Good solid tires. I hope I didn't strain them too much. I'd hate to think I damaged the cords or anything. now to go outside and get that beast out of my nice clean wagon... oh, and yes, I not only cut a piece of plywood to fit around the wheel well/spare tire bumps and such, I also put down a plastic fluid catch pan, AND put a large sheet of cardboard in the pan! I don't want any nasty gunky oil or antifreeze spilling and getting my blue carpet dirty!!! Quote:
then you have at your disposal a set of tools! 13mm and 15mm sockets, allen, common and phillips screwdriver etc...

Humm, thats not a duramax....

what do you think a duramax would weigh in at?...
maybe I should go find one and put it in there too? nahh, it's just a boat anchor for carrying parts for my 2500 truck. I needed a turbo, and a spare set of injectors. the tranny is just a bonus! when I drained the oil prior to putting the motor in my car, ICKKY CHUNKY SLUDGE came out after the ANTIFREEZE came out!!! I'm betting the motor did more than run hot... I'm betting it's cracked beyond repair. and I'm sure the bearings are in worse shape than that. definitely not using this sucker!

Just got back from Ace with two 40 gallon lowboy water heaters. We were all skeptical about getting them both in there, but they fit just fine, still in their boxes with room to spare.
