My latest 300D!

I just bought a 78 300D for $300... O_O The story behind it is that the owners are very elderly property owners, who had a "tendency" to piss people off...So, about 12 years ago, somebody slashed the tires on it after the woman owner parked it for the day, and I guess she had six or so other cars to drive, so she just let it sit, and did a non-op on it. O_O She and her husband now reside in a facility, and the property manage is the one who completed the sale.

Anyway, the car is very very complete, nothing is missing, but it has been sitting for a decade...all four tires are flat, and the parking brake is stuck on, I can't disengage it no matter how hard I pull the release lever...any suggestions for fixing this? I don't have the key, but I should be getting one tomorrow, and the engine looks fine...I am confident that it will run. Anyway, I will take pics once I get it home and cleaned up this weekend!

Nice find. I bet the e brake shoes are rusted to the inside of the rear rotor/drum. Yes, the rear rotors also have a drum incorporated for the e-brake. You can take the wheels and rear calipers off, and use a dead blow hammer to give a few wacks to try and break them free.

Also spray some PB blast in there before hammering.

That's what I was going to say.

Except use AeroKroil.

Great minds think alike! I never heard of AeroKroil though, much less seen it.

If you are going to replace the rotors, use a regular 2-3 lb sledge. The dead blow will not mar the rotor if you plan on keeping them.

It makes PB Blaster and Liquid Wrench seem like water.

Nice! Thanks! I do have TIN because of Herbahype and my wife's hand made jewelry stuff. I'm thinking about incorporating my on the side PC repair and buying/reselling MB's (when cash flow allows).

Cool ... I thought about flipping MB diesels myself, but I don't know if I'd be able to let them go.

Try gun shops

Other than online, the only walk-in stores I have ever seen selling Kroil products have been gun shops. It really is great stuff.

Call a flat bed, they will winch that MF up stuck rear wheels or not. Once its at your place you can mess with it.

Sounds like fun! Where did you find the car? Downey isn't that far from my place.

If you need help with it just shoot me a PM ...

Tried that already. They wouldn't TOUCH it. Afraid of liability apparently...

AAA won't help me tow it either, since they don't consider it an emergency or something, when they have towed cars (in the exact same situation) over 200 miles for me in the past. According to them, I "got lucky" those times. So now I have to basically get it running, then pull it out onto the road and call them for an emergency tow. Silly isn't it?
