The guy that helped me out started talking about wether or not the car has a safety shutoff in the event of a loss of oil...we don't really know if that's a possibility. that or going up the hill moved the little bit of oil that was in there to a point the engine couldn't pressurize it.

Not unless a previous owner installed one. If it's there, please take pictures and explain the wiring since many member here would be interested in installing one on their own vehicles.
