Question: How come your temp guage is in farenheit and your oil pressure is in psi? I have never seen that.
My oil pressure and temp gauge in my 79 240d are the same way. I hadn't ever seen that before myself either. Maybe it is something in the 80 and previous w123s? It wasn't that way in either of my past MB diesels.

that may be it, both our '78 and '80 123s have F*/psi gauges. My 115s are that way too, maybe they did it for the US spec cars in that era.

It appears by the headrests that it is a 1980 model. My '80 wagon had the temp and oil pressure in non-metric form. My '85 wagon is like that too, but it has clearly been changed. I imagine because of a leaking oil pressure gauge.
Are you going to bring the wagon, or um, cheap wagon home tomorrow??

Yes, it is a non turbo 1980 model. Driving down to it, I was thinking how I would get it home. The driver side rear brake seizing decided for me --- rollback. Today, hopefully. Now, where do I park it????

Haven't we seen enough?

Just kidding Daw. I've seen your determination first hand and online. If anyone can make Chammy look pretty again, you can.

Congrats on the cheap wagon purchase, daw! And welcome to the even more exclusive Cheap '80 NA TD Rear Side Window Issues Evil Servo Club!

I wish I had the split bench, mine is just the single. It'd be nice to carry a rear seat passenger and long stuff, or more stuff, at the same time

Multiple Responses....

Jimmy --- more pics coming; I promise. Rollback driver called yesterday at 5:15pm; was at the shop picking up the keys --- shop did not know where the keys were. I hope it got snatched yesterday afternoon and dropped off last night. I had too much going on at the house to go see.

Tyler --- do you see any capitalized D in "daw" ?? You will laugh when you hear the story about my small "d" --- it's only a story I tell in person.

SwampYankee --- do you want a split backseat in BLUE? I can get you one. I'm only offering because Chameleon's interior is Palamino. Does my wagon have a split backseat? COOL!!!!

Busy Day today!!!

I rarely answer such questions in public; although catch up with me while wrenching or relaxing while discussing project cars and I'll probably tell you.

As I recall, to be a member of the "Cheap Wagon Club" one must buy them for under $1K, right? Jimmy or Tyler could answer this question.

More pictures coming......they are on the camera.

I believe it was an option, mine doesn't have one.

"843rear seat bench divided 2/3 : 1/3 (с 01.10.1977 по 31.08.1996)"

I assume that's what that means. I didn't know it was available in '80, but then again I don't know jack. And see your PM.

For all of us lucky thieves that got bargain prices (under $1000) on the elusive Estate.

Yep. My application is still pending approval, though.

More pics.....

Jimmy --- since you requested these; you are tasked with commenting on them once I get them all posted. You won't even believe what the guy at the shop said. He said something like....."How much did you pay for this piece of S*&%? " After I told him, he says.....if it has the 3rd row seat, we ought to sell it and junk the rest.

The paint is the worse I've ever seen. On to the show. ARGH --- what happen to all my tags???

As you can see even the door jambs have paint issues. ARGH --- I can't believe the descriptions don't show up. Hmmmm.....Well, I guess I will have to write captions these pics.

Backseat with 3 headrests. Yeah.

Very nice back seat, I might add.

Anyone want to guess what might be under there? The hatch floor carpet is in very good shape --- snaps were even snapped on it.

But before we look under the hatch floor carpet.....I opened the tool and first aid compartment with high hopes of finding things in there. Well, anyone want to bet?

here's one thing I saw:

that white box slides out:

and inside the box:

Everyone needs to carry spare belts with them, right?

Looking at the other side....even a spare tire:

I forgot to look under it......

Back to the floor carpet....anything under it??

Hey Jimmy; I think a virgin backseat might come in handy during the next Texas GTG buffet line gathering!!!

Here are the bad spots:

I hope that is just dirt, leaves, and grim --- no rust??? I have my fingers crossed.

Anyone see anything missing in this next pic?

I know, I know. How can you see a turbo if it is missing.....

You won't even believe what was in this and the color of it. Remind me to take a picture next time

It has a perfect front grill and the 2 most important things:

Look at these rear bumper pics.

Well, Jimmy? Tyler? Chad? Asnowquall? Others? What do you think?
