Wouldn't engage: what does symptom suggest?

My daughter has my SDL and observed the following:

1. Started driving, but acceleration seemed a bit sluggish.

2. Came to a stop and was about to enter an on ramp; but when should pressed acclerator the engine revved but she didn't move.

3. Not knowing what to do, she turned the car off, turned it back on, and then it worked fine.

Any thoughts as to what the issue might be?

Re low tranny fluid, that was a thought I had....although just had fluid and filter replaced about a month and a half ago and apparently there was no evidence of any leaks.

she accidentally bumped it out of gear?

BTW, RI Rocks!! Good thing you have her in such a solid car, I always appreciate how RhodIslanders drive....

1. You could have the wrong atf in the tranny? who did the change?
2. Do you hear the turbo kick in when accelerating? a bad turbo will cause those problems. You may also have turbo pipes clogged with carbon. Do you have the egr valve enabled?

Also you may have to look at the alda.

The best clue is the engine revved, car didn't move. low trans fluid! Or worn shifter bushings and it was not fully in drive (vibrated partially out while driven)
