Vacuum line component
I was loosing my upper oil cooling line and when it finally loosened up the wrench slammed down on a vacuum component that is clear/whitish and has a small paper filter inside of it. It is near the banjo bolt and I need to replace it. Can someone tell me what this is? Oh and has anyone used teflon tape ont he threads to the oil cooler lines?

Listing the year and model of your car will help get answers. This can be permanently added to each posting by including that in your 'signature'. That is done via the button above labeled User CP.

sorry its an 85 300D turbo

Is it hooked into one of the hard plastic vacuum lines? If so, it may just be a diagnostic filter to verify no oil in the vac system from the vac pump or other component failure.

On my car, there is a filter on the vent line, presumably to prevent getting dirt into the vacuum solenoids for the climate control.
