It does have to hook on something, so you have to make sure when you put it in, you don't push the rack in with the arm, or when you start the engine it will go full throttle. Insert the arm off to the side so you go around the rack.
The job takes 5 minutes at most.

I remember seeing a thread here about adjusting the IP to attain full load (?) and has an image of the back of the IP opened but I just can't find it. Maybe that will help?
