240D Back Glass LEAK!

I have two small leaks on the bottom part of my back glass each about 2 inches long, i dont want to replace the gasket unless i have to..
Is there something i can squirt into the gasket to stop the leak for a while, like some windshield gasket sealer or somthing?
Thanks!

Yup, flowable silicon windshield sealant, couple bucks at the hardware store. I use it on the front windshield on my 240D every couple years. The VW diesel crowd swear by doing it every year...

I have heard that silicone can promote rust. Others have suggested using butyl rubber sealant instead.

I'm talking about running a bead between the glass and the rubber seal which is where the leak probably is. Nothing to rust there...

The 8M windshield sealant at the parts store works great. If you wet your finger you can smooth it down and blend it nicely. Just be warned that this stuff is hard wash off. I had a windshield installed by 3 different glass companies several times and I finally got it to stop leaking by filling in all the gaps (yes, they used and trashed an OEM seal). I will never trust a glass shop to install my windshields after my experience with them. They never take the time to clean out all the old seal/sealant and so the new parts don't seat and it makes large gaps between the body and the seal to leak.
