I placed them exactly where Norm and Zippy have their original ones, so I KNOW I did that one right at the very least.

They won't... I know my cars are prettier than most, but I appreciate people giving me tips to make them better.

Man Tyler, I thought I was giving you a hard time with the paint chip question. Little did I know how mild that would end up looking later on in this thread.
Even with Norm being a charter member of the Cheap Wagon Club, you've got as nice an MB arsenal as just about anybody {Shell and POS don't count. Totally different level there!!}
Your first aid kit box looks darn near perfect. If it isn't totally period correct, the phrase "bite me" always seems to be an effective counter point.
Your additions to Ol' Turbo are time and $$$ well spent.
Oh, and Good Holy Lord that is the nicest cup holder insert I've ever seen anybody produce!!! How did I miss that?? Chad has more than just Photoshopping skills it looks like. I wouldn't mind one of those myself. {must fit a can and a koozy holding it}
First one I've seen that is good enough to be mistaken for factory by a non-MB dork, and Chad's woodwork is as good as Cecily's. Impressive......

Well here it is:

1. Your car has a GASOLINE engine, and therefore belongs nowhere near diesel discussion ()

2. Your power antenna is broken (unless you just happen to have your radio on

3. Not sure on this one but shouldn't your car have bundts? I thought hubcaps were only factory on 240d's

4. Your cold air intake pipe is missing, unless gassers never had on.

Tyler the green car looks great! That first aid kit is mint so who cares if its the wrong color or tex. The rougher texture matches the carpet mb used back there anyway. I for one would have never noticed it if it wasn't pointed out. Hood scratch? Where...Last time I saw that car it had gorgeous paint. Whatever came of your head gasket? And you still need to tune your ALDA!!!! Theres a lot of power thats just begging to get unlocked

Hey! 79 Mercy fits in just fine with the Diesel discussion. The poor guy has such a unique car that it wouldn't fit in better anywhere else.

You're right on 1 & 2, Derick, but not 3 & 4. It was all hubbies pre-1980 and that's how most gasser intakes look.

Its a small chip on the fender I made while wrestling with the battery. Barely noticeable now, and probably not noticeable after I touch it up.

The head gasket was fine, cracked expansion tank was the problem (which you noted)

I wish you came to visit a week later when everything was finished on Norm. You saw it at its worst. The SL hadn't seen 100+ in a while before you got behind the wheel.

Yep, when he drives your car, he ain't shy about it!! Good thing I only gave him access to 67 horse power.......

79mercy's car is AWESOME, and he is welcome on the diesel side any time. He's gonna need a donor engine when that prissy gasser engine fails anyway.
That car is a 2 door version of the Squash, right down to interior color. My engine doesn't "look" that cool, though.

OK, if we're gonna throw him under the bus for sport, what's up with that drivers door lower trim strip?

Wow, that sentence you quoted couldn't be more horribly structured.

Correction:

Before Turbobenz, the SL had not seen triple digits for some time.

Only hurt feelings will come of this if the current theme continues.

What happened to my insignificant fluffy thread? Do I need to go down and have Tires Plus break something else so everyone can be supportive?

Ah now I know why you guys use a bb to seal it! That way the inspector doesn't notice

In California we don't have inspections
