throttle pivot broken

So I was under the hood of the 82 to replace a burned out headlight and noticed the throttle linkage pivot unit that is attached to the firewall was hanging down!
A closer look showed that the material that holds the unit to the bracket was crumbling, it seems like some kind of putty, and allowed the unit to come loose.
I removed the unit from the car and peeled off the rest of the stuff that held it in.
For now I slipped a piece of rubber tubing over the actual pivot ion the back of the linkage and jammed it back into the firewall bracket. It works but it is not a permanent fix.
It looks like the pivot is held the the linkage piece with snaprings and is replaceable.
Is this piece available or do I need to replace the entire bracket and linkage?

Is this the assembly?

I don't know if individual parts are available, but I would suspect that they aren't. On mine, the rubber part (bonded between the two metal plates) finally gave up the ghost.

Mine broke about a year ago. I believe I ordered this from Phil on this website. It was a piece of cake to replace, and relatively cheap too. Over time, the rubber in these breaks down and will fall apart. Mine came loose with my wife driving the car. I had to idle the car home...5 miles.

Throttle Bushing

This is a very common problem on these older Mercedes. That crumbly putty looking stuff was actually a plastic ball that was part of a ball and socket joint that the linkage pivots on. You can buy a replacement assembly right here at mercedesshop.com-

Buy a new one if you feel like it, but I just recreated the "ball" portion on both my 240D and 300D 3 or 4 years ago with kitty-hair bondo. Works fine.
