Pristine 240D

Anybody chasing this one? If only I had the funds :(

There's been some reconditioning on that car - it's too clean. I'll take my 300D over the 240D because the 240 just has to work really hard to keep up in 2008 traffic while the 300D does it effortlessly. Don't buy off ebay without seeing it first - Rule 1.

That interior looks *too* blue. weird

I'm positive that I've seen the same pictures before in another ad....could be a fraud...or maybe they are just selling it again (or didn't sell first time). One thing I can tell you is there is no way those pictures were taken in Michigan.

Interesting comments...I think it looks pretty amazing actually. I'd love to own it and don't really mind going slow *grin*. I've owned 2 military trucks (deuce 1/2 & 5 ton tractor) and the best driving that I've done have been in those trucks...primarily because top speed is 55mph and when driving...you literally see everything. I think I'd enjoy driving this 240D more though...classic MB styling...I like it. I don't think it was meant to drive fast...it was meant to be "driven". I'm open to all offers to purchase it for me and my wife *fat grin*

Come on - you've never seen THAT area in Michigan?! We have all kinds of crazy terrain... ;)

That car has been for sale on ebay before.

:D I've always heard that Michigan had sagebrush just like Park City Utah...

that seller always uses the same location for his photo shoots. In Michigan..

Nice looking car... but ya, it is too clean to have been a daily driver. Nice crank windows and climate control though.

I had the same feeling - I have seen those pics before. Utah plate and very professional pics taken somewhere in the west (not Michigan)..something is fishy...

compu_85 10-16-2008 01:33 AM

That doesn't look too different from northern MI IIRC

The seller used to be based in Park City, UT, so that's prolly where he took the pictures.
I bought an 85 300D from him in July and believe that he's as honest as a used car saleman who buys MBs at auction could be. (he won't know a thing about the car's history other than service records) His description of my car was accurate except for saying that the A/C worked. He did take money off the sale as a result though...he said he copied a previous ad and failed to correct it.

Yeah, it's been on Ebay for 6 months or so.

I seem to recall reading something about Utah/Michigan cross border title transfer deal, and somebody was selling it for someone else but getting a commission??..........whatever.

compu_85 10-16-2008 11:14 AM

In Michigan it's so easy to get a title for a car...
