Look Ma, no Glass

I had the rear window removed from the SD today to have the seal replaced. There were a few small rust bubbles starting to show under the paint on the channel so I left the rear glass at the shop and drove it around today with out it. Those Germans did a great job with the aerodynamics of this car, other than a bit more road noise you could not tell the glass was missing, even when driving down the freeway at 60, the wind just slids over the roof.

The other day on the way to work, I saw a new W211 E320 with the rear glass all gone (broken) and the defrost wires dangling. Looked like the car had some soil on its roof and trunk also, but was just running normally. Is it an "in" thing? It was brown too, which is not a common color for a new W211...

Sounds like that car might have been rolled.

Tom, I took a good look but it seemed most panels looked intact. Maybe something fell on its rear glass, that had dirt/soil accompany it?
