LOL

I get 16 city, 21 hwy

3.73:1

You don't want a V6 GM Fullsize. Think about the weight of the truck and the powerband of the V6. You want torque down low in a truck.

Is it a crew cab? All the guys I know get horrible mileage with full size trucks. My uncles 1500 SS returns 10-11, my friends Dodge 1500, with the 5.9, gets 10-11, my other friends Chevy 2500 with the 6.2 returns 11-12.

The only one who I know does pretty well is with a 2008 Silverado 1500 thats loaded to the hilt, but has that cylinder shut down thing. He claims just about 20 on the highway.

I want the base truck, roll up windows, no power anything, single cab, 2wd. I just need the 8ft bed to hual stuff. We have a dump truck with a 14L Cummins for towing needs.

It's an extended cab. The SS has the higher-compression 6.0L LQ9, the 5.9L Magnum was never known for it's gas mileage, and the 3/4 ton is heavy for a gasser.

My truck is the 5.3L LM7. 15 MPG city is very common when left stock. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Gen-III small block Chevrolets.

I don't know anything about them, its just a work vehical for the company. Low cost operation is more important than anything else.
