With the 606 engine, you spend that much time praying before you pick up a wrench....

I was very fortunate, I only dropped the wrench twice, 1 wire connector nut 1 linkage clip, and 1 socket.......all behind the inj. pump. It's amazing what you can do with a long screw driver and a wad of putty.

If I had to do this job, I'd get an air driven impact wrench and a 40 lb-ft. torque stick.
Put the air wrench to the glow plug in reverse direction for 5 minutes. The put it back in forward for 20 seconds. Repeat process until plug is finally removed. It might take 30-45 minutes for this process to work..........but, compare that time to a broken plug. The problem with everyone who's broken a plug is the lack of patience and the lack of impact torque. |

LOL!!! And don't forget all the promises made along the way... "Lord, let this plug come out without snapping and I promise you I'll go to church this Sunday and I'll stop drinking beer for a week and..."
