EGR Valve
I seem to have a lot of pressure under my valve cover (filler cap & cover gasket seeping oil). I was wondering if that could be a clogged EGR valve. Thanks, Bill. Sorry, its an 85 300d turbo, 170K miles.

EGR is an emission device connecting the exhaust to the intake and would have nothing to do with exsessive crankcase pressure. Maybe its just time for a new oil cap and valve cover gasket?

Check the CCV (Crank case ventilation) lines running from the valve cover to the air filter housing.
