Diesel in Ann Arbor area?

A couple of questions for members in the Ann Arbor area.

I just bought a 1995 E300 Diesel. It has 101,000 miles on it. A one owner car. Really in terrific shape for its age.

It's my first diesel in almost 5 years. Previously I owned a 1983 240D from 1991-2003; it had 250,000 miles when I replaced it. Still my favorite car of all time. Also I owned a 1985 300SD from 1995-2005; it had 260,000 miles when I replaced it.

Which Ann Arbor area fuel station do you recommend for filling the tank with Diesel?

Where do you get your Mercedes-Benz Diesel serviced in the Ann Arbor area?

I don't live out there (north metro area, here), but when I am, I always fill up at the Meijer at the AA/Saline Rd. exit off I-94. They always have diesel and seem to be a high volume pump, so I am relatively sure the diesel is fresh. They also have Bio, if that's your thing.

As far as service, if I lived out that direction, I would always make the trek to Jackson. Kelly Imports is a fantastic shop out there - my buddy's father-in-law owns it (Kelly) - they know a ton about imports, and they have owned a bunch of old Benzes, so they have first-hand knowledge of our cars. When I first bought my 300D, I drove all the way over there to have them give me an honest answer about what was up with the car. They are legit, fair, and honest.

Ask for Kelly (if he's there), or Bruce.

Just my two cents...

Mechanical advice- Michigan area

Guys,
I am surprised, but maybe you didn't know. Roy Hunter, the man who runs the technical end of this website and is a certified Master Tech for MB, lives down the street from you. If you need an assessment, a diagnosis etc, call him and pay to have the man check over your car. It's worth it.

He won't advertise but I will sing his praises

I had worked for 20 years in larger diesels and farm equipment and didn't (still don't) know all the particulars of the MB diesels, tho I',m fast learning. Roy knows. Now. So do the smart thing and contact him.
