My New Euros

I agree with Mercy that the original headlights look much more distinctive on the 300D. But the problem with them is you just can't see a frigging thing with those. So I've made my own euro conversion and, voila, I can see at night in the rain.

Oh, and by the way, across the street from my office diesel is 2.98. Gotta go fill up.

Next come the AMG Pentas with some tires that actually stick to the road, and then I can worry about pimpin'. Maybe I can get Chad to do my tint.

The rectangular euros are very nice, I have them in my 85 but the round, 7" euros are just as good for seeing way far down the road. The "seal beams' are totally worthless Euro lights have to be the best upgrade next to "pencil style GPs".

Welcome to the club

The US DOT lights can be replaced with 7" H4 conversions such as the Bosch/Hella units sold online, or the cheaper Autopal conversions on eBay to the expensive-but-well-worth-the-look Cibie H4's that Daniel Stern sells.

There's also a trick with the city light bulbs that can get them to illuminate much brighter with the same wattage

S class C pillar reading lights have bulbs that fit in perfectly into the city light bulb holders, and shine much whiter.

I've got the 7" replacement Autopal's on 2 of mine and am totally happy with their performance. Much better than the sealed beam yet I get to keep the Mantis look.......

Slightly OT: Are the Autopals also convex like the sealed beams? Or are they more flat like the Hella/Bosch units? I know the Cibies have the distinct convex lens.

looks good man, have you thought about chroming the plastic insides like I did?

What sort of upgrades have you done to your MB?

No, haven't thought about it. Does it increase lighting or is it aesthetic?

The Autopals are flat as a Mackerel across the front of them. Have just been very pleased with them. Especially since buying this cheap wagon and remembering how poor the sealed beams are.....

I was very happy with the person selling these. As luck would have it they are local to me so I purchased them on ebay but went over to their house to pick them up. [was working near that area at the time]
When I installed them one had a burned out bulb and he shipped me one the next day no questions asked. I will buy my lights for the cheap wagon from him.
