"Hello, I'm Heat. I don't believe we've met."

Bought the rebuilt CCU today - installed it in the parking lot, b/c I was so excited to see if it worked. When the heat kicked on right away, I was ecstatic.

Who knew that something so mundane, so normal, so...standard, could be SOOOO luxurious. Wow - simple pleasures. No more defrosting with the hair dryer, no more keeping a wool blanket in the car. No more!

Thanks to all who helped me on this...

Glad to hear things worked out, I'm going to need to do that myself soon, where did you get it?

Haha...thanks. I'm trying to take the title of "most original post subjects." And, there's so much serious business going on the forum, a little attempt at humor can't hurt.

Got my vote, and the humor is appreciated--especially when you work in the finance industry these days.

I went a whole season with the level of heat you'd get from an old woman coughing at you......the next year I replaced my monovalve diaphragm....and I had HEAT! Warm! Amazing! Heat! I agree, its something under appreciated in cars....when you don't have it, you REALLY miss it.

I will bask in the glow of warm air for now...but, eventually, I have to figure out why air won't change temps for me. I replaced the monovalve with the repair kit, but there's still only super hot air. Awesome for right now - not so awesome in July.

I know you can appreciate a good, cold winter, pawo.

i count one of my luckiest lunchtime or any day finds. A CRAPPY 300D had the dash ripped out and laying on the seat was a CCU unit. It caught my attention because the buttons looked very nice. when I picked it up it had a MB label on it and was dated 2006. it is brand new. and then there was heat and air , at least until the AC compressor fell off.....

Do yourself a BIG favor and check out your Aux Water pump. If it is bad or not working and still plugged in, it will fry your new CCU in a very short time.

did you also check for voltage at the monovalve? it should have 12V with the air on high. then pinch the terminal a little. BTW be careful not to short the positive on the monovalve to ground, that will also kill your CCU
