Pop when steering in the cold
On my 1981 300SD, I replaced some bent tie rods with a used pair and took it in for allignment. The steering wheel was off center (meaning that I had to turn the wheel maybe an eighth turn to the left to go straight)before changing the rods and the allignment. I figured the allignment would fix the wheel not being centered, but I was wrong. Also, there is now a "Pop" noise coming from under my left foot in the mornings when it is cold (mid 50s) outside and I turn the whell too far to either side. The pop does not happen when I come home from work. The other rubber pieces in the suspension definitely need replaced, but were not making any noises before...
Is this a bad tie rod? |

Thanks for the help, again! |
