Thanks for the help.

I think I have my head around most of this.

One last question. Are you replacing an actuator or adding one?

Has anyone yanked out the vac locks in a 123 and put in electric?? Seems like it shouldnt be to painful, and eliminate a big headache.

Adding one. The one you add lets the keyless entry system lock/unlock the driver's door - and from there, the stock locking system takes over and locks everything else just as if you'd locked the door by hand.

I did speculate on replacing the sensor in the driver's door with a 5-wire actuator, but I don't know if it'll work and there's no pressing reason to do it.

I did, it wasn't too bad. Then again, I had all the interior (seats, etc.) removed already for other reasons, so running the new wiring throughout the car was simple.

You'll need 6 actuators: at least 1 five-wire one (to control lock/unlock from the driver's door) and 1 2-wire actuator each for the passenger door, two back doors, fuel flap, and trunk or hatch.

Okay thanks.
So obviously you add a line from the new actuator to the existing line. I have some extra I pulled from my 116 that I parted. Looks like they will go to good use...
Thanks for the help!

I originally started out doing the switch as stated in this post- adding an acuator to the drivers door in my w126. However the pump in the trunk kept giving me problems. At that point I added acuators to each door. It was a bit involved running the wires but has worked well since then.
